OCOA made history this summer as the first Dominican curly hair care brand to join the Ulta Beauty team 👏
The brand, owned and founded by sisters Cory and Nicol, uses natural ingredients such as rice extract, marula oil, and argan oil in formulations that were tested over two years. Their very first product, the Hydrating Curl Cream, still uses the same formulation to this day!
What we 💚:
The brand’s heritage lives in every aspect of the brand. They looked to their homeland and culture to source the ingredients used in their formulations, and Ocoa is the name of Cory and Nicol’s hometown in the Dominican Republic, meaning “a place between mountains.”
Their website features a blog called the Curl Hub that offers education on curl caretaking, using their products, styling tips, tutorials, and more.
